Project description:

Only the beautiful name remains of the original Houtrust (“calm woods”), which used to be one of many country seats around The Hague. The area needs to regain a strong identity without becoming an enclave. In order to achieve this, the new buildings have to relate to the surrounding landscape and sports grounds.

Several housing towers are integrated into the geometric pattern and are arranged in such a way that the area retains its open character. The “wild” green of the dune landscape penetrates the terrain and extends from the forecourt via the entrance courts to the patios and the roofs. The constructional concept of the housing towers permits a variety of apartment sizes and floor plans.
