This is our second commission from the owner of DEINING. This time, our task was to turn a second-hand construction site container into a beach club for parties and receptions. In contrast to the containers of DEINING, this prefab shed was colum-free.
Just like for DEINING, however, the budget was extremely tight and all detailing had to be DIY-proof.We decided to insert a single, elongated, all-white piece of furniture into the space, which accomodates all necessary elements: outside and inside bar, dance floor, DJ stand and lounge area. It is shaped like a folded, angular ribbon and constructed from segments of white lacquered plywood.
Stretching from the the back of the shed to the beachfront, piercing its wall and extending onto the terrace, this object is the focus of all activities in the shed.
The sides of the ribbon were filled in with back-lit plastic panels, turning it into a light object and immersing the club in a magical glow at night.
